At Portable ("we," "us," or "our"), we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile terminal application and related services (the "Service").
The short version: We collect minimal data needed to provide the Service. Your code stays private. We never train AI models on your private code. You can request deletion of your data at any time.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you sign up for our waitlist or create an account, we collect:
- Email address - Required to create your account and communicate with you
- Name - If you choose to provide it
- Referral information - If you joined through a referral link
1.2 Usage Data
We automatically collect certain information when you use the Service:
- Device information - Device type, operating system, screen size
- App usage - Features used, session duration, crash reports
- IP address - Used for security and approximate location (country/region)
1.3 Code and Files
When you use Portable to write or edit code:
- Local files - Code files on your device are accessed only when you explicitly open them in the app
- Cloud sessions - If you use our cloud terminal, session data is encrypted and isolated
- Git repositories - We access repository data only as needed to provide git functionality
1.4 AI Interaction Data
When you use AI assistance features:
- Prompts and context - Code snippets and questions you send to AI models
- AI responses - Responses generated by AI providers
1.5 API Keys and Secrets
If you store API keys or environment variables in Portable:
- Secrets are encrypted using industry-standard encryption (AES-256)
- We use platform-native secure storage (iOS Keychain, Android Keystore)
- We never transmit your API keys to our servers unless required for a feature you explicitly enable

3. AI Features and Your Code
We do not train AI models on your private code.
When you use AI assistance features in Portable:
- Your code is not used for training - We never use your private code to train or improve AI models
- Bring your own API key - When you use your own API keys, data goes directly to your chosen provider
- Minimal context - We send only the code context necessary to generate helpful responses
- No persistent storage - AI interaction data is not stored beyond the current session unless you explicitly save it

Portable is based in the United States. If you are located outside the US, your data may be transferred to and processed in the US or other countries where our service providers operate.
